2010 Contest Deadline

March 31st, 2010 (Or when I receive 100 scripts – whichever comes first.)

Entry Fee

$35 – No Feedback
$50 – With Feedback (1 page of comments, ideas, and suggestions)

How to Enter (a two-step process):

1. Pay the entry fee using the PayPal icon on the right.

2. Email your 80-120 page screenplay to [email protected] (pdf, fdr, or doc formats only, please).

Two more things:

1. Sorry, I’m very strict about the 120 page limit since I’m reading these myself.

2. Multiple submissions are welcome as long as each script is accompanied by an entry fee.

Contest Details

Another screenwriting contest? Why the heck should I enter this one?

When asked about screenwriting contests, I always recommend smaller ones – they give you a far better chance of placing, or even winning.

And so I’ve limited this contest to one hundred entries. When I receive 100 scripts – and entry fees – the contest will be closed.

The other reason I’m limiting it to 100 scripts is because I’m reading them all myself.

Because the WORST thing about most screenwriting contests is that you never know who reads your scripts. The unpaid intern? The unpaid intern’s parents? Have they ever even read a script before, let alone written one? Who knows.

The Judges

In this contest, I, Script Doctor Eric, will read each and every one of your scripts looking for the most well-written, entertaining, and marketable movie. All genres are welcome, as long as they are feature length.

The top 10 scripts will be read by at least one other industry professional, but the final decision will still be mine.

I’m honored to have the following three guest judges this year:

-Suntaur Entertainment’s Zac Sanford

-Produced screenwriter Ashley Meyers of SellingYourScreenplay.com

-Screenwriter/blogger Emily Blake of Bamboo Killers

The three Grand Prize Winners will be decided by myself and the group.
