I’ve received this question a couple times in the past few weeks:

My script is longer than 120 pages.  Would you still read it and give me notes?

The average screenplay is usually between 90 and 120 pages.  Each page generally corresponds to a minute on screen.

It’s a bit of a dance – you don’t want to write excess pages that may bore the reader, but you want your script to be long enough to be taken seriously.

Shoot for around 110 pages.  That may seem arbitrary, but right now the safe zone feels between 105 and 115.

To answer the question about whether or not I can give you notes…yes, I can give you notes.  Check out my screenwriting services and choose the one that’s right for you.  For the extra pages, I’ll charge you a few extra bucks, but we can work it out later.

It would benefit BOTH of us, however, if you could really try to get your script under the 120 page limit.  As so much of writing is editing and rewriting, it is extremely beneficial to you to work through the process of learning what to keep and what to take out of your screenplay.

So, trim that script!
