Coming this Fall…

As many of you know, I am currently on break from script consulting as I finish a larger project.   Finally, there is light at the end of the tunnel.  And I can see that it will be possible to reach that light by this fall.

While I still update ScriptDoctorEric.com and Matt and I do our weekly screenwriting podcast (Scriptcast), there are many more ways I want to reach out to help screenwriters.

So, in preparation for the grand return to full operation of ScriptDoctorEric.com, I’ve compiled a tentative list of screenwriting things to look forward to.

Here they are, in no particular order:

-Temporary Specially Discounted “Grand Return” Rates for help on your screenplay!  Usually my screenwriting services are around $100.  Look for those prices to be slashed for a limited time (and limited number of scripts!).

-2012 Screenplay Contest – Yes, similar to my 2010 Screenplay Contest: Limited number of entries, cash prizes and industry judges for the finalists.

-Free Screenwriting Newsletter – with writing hints and exclusive contests

-Bring back that free, weekly logline contest that everybody seems to love – Logline Friday – with new (and improved) prizes!

-Office Hours – Two hours a week I will be available on Facebook, Twitter, and Gchat for a free Q&A session to ask me anything you want!

-Short Script Service – Help on your short film scripts.

-Get more involved with projects from Support Something Sunday

-Make screenwriting videos (still not quite sure how this will work)

-Low Budget, Short Script Contest – I will produce the winning script!

-Live – or virtual – screenwriting lessons…

-Guest posts on ScriptDoctorEric.com

-More!  (Much, much…)

Are there other screenwriting events, contests, or services you would like?  Let me know in the comments or via email.

I can’t wait until the fall.

Meanwhile, I’ll keep posting and Matt and I will keep Scriptcast…ing.

Thanks for listening, and…

Onward!

-Eric

    Hey!
I’m a faithfull reader and listener of yours and I finally decided to ask
for your advice on a specific matter.
I’m currently studying tv and movie producing/developing
at the National Audiovisual Institue in France. Next year,
I would like to study screenwriting in the us for a semester,
or less. So i would like you to suggest some programs that
are both good and accessible to international students.
I already did some research but I would like to have your insight.
    Thank you so much.
    Fred.

    Thanks for the comment, Fred.

I’m not sure which programs offer a course for “a semester or less,” but perhaps UCLA Extension has something? Will look into it and see what recommendations I can give…
